Trial by Fire: Directed by Tim Seyfert

Tim Seyfert Profile

Trial by Fire was Tim’s Directorial Debut. Tim Seyfert is a UK based writer, screen actor and film director originally from Northern California. He studied journalism at San Francisco State University and after graduating with a bachelor of arts, worked as a production assistant for CBS news and then later as a newspaper reporter. His journey into film and television began when, thirsting for a new challenge, he decided to relocate to the United Kingdom to study filmmaking at the University of Bristol, which in turn led to his discovery of acting.

In 2008, he landed his first professional acting role as King Arthur in the historical series Mystery Files, which aired globally on The National Geographic Channel and The Discovery Channel. This was followed up with the lead role in the art house film short Time Travel Boyfriends, which won the Prix Radi Award at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. Since then, Tim has worked steadily in both film and television, including stints on the latest season of the FOX television series 24: Live Another Day. Outside of acting, Tim lectures English at a college in southwest, England and writes screenplays and short stories.

He currently has two screenplays in development: The sci-fi noir ‘Inflorescence’ with Innerscope Pictures and the western drama ‘South of Here’ with Fire in the Hole Productions, both due to begin shooting in summer/autumn 2016.

This project was another collaborative sound project with Sound Recordist and Designer James Chatwin.

Although a lot of sound was recorded on set, the entirety of the Fight Scene was produced through Foley and Re-recording in post-production Sound Design stages. Post-Production facilities at The Falmouth University were utilised for both Foley and ADR Recording.

Although the shoot itself took place over only two days, the post-production schedule was fairly extended, allowing plenty of time for sound and VFX work to do justice to the hours put in on set!
